Simple question …
As with most things, a simple and fair question often takes a while to answer and this one is no different. In short though, it’s a combination of interest, interest and contribyting to the age of information.
Interest/fun
I’m rather fond of technology and the myriad of things that can be unlocked with it. Building up from small parts of simple logic, truely incredible things can be achieved. Having a website allows me to add information to the internet as I want to, making this feel more like a digital home than operating on a company’s site/product ever could.
Having an online digital home is something pretty fun and (to anyone who thinks it would be enjoyable but hasn’t got round to it,) worth doing.
Future-proofing
The world is becoming evermore online and urls (like www.88tpm.com) are kind of like land, it made sense to save a little to have as my own. Also, having a space that I can point various things to just makes sense, a small patch of digital land to tinker on.
There will be more domain endings, but in general it’s nice to have this one location as my own.
Searches
Finally, when everything is searchable, it’s nice to have a site that confirms what links to what rather than leaving it up to interpretation.
88tpm links all of my online accounts in one place so that anyone searching for me in a social setting can find them and (it the future) it’ll link some of my other side projects too.
