Discounts

The saying that you don’t get anything for free is a valid one, however you do sometimes get something discounted and not because ‘it fell of the back of a lorry’. Various sites offer discounts or coupons, but these tend to be slightly frustrating as they are only valid for a limited time and then don’t tend to be based on what you actually wanted. They can save you money, but this post is about convenient savings rather than going to lengthy efforts to do so.

Cheap stuff you actually want

I wish that I had learnt this years ago, but amazon have a discounted section where things can be ridiculously cheap. They don’t advertise it, but it’s there. Following this link will take you to the page and then all you need do is selected the department you want, put a few key words in the box and you’re away. I would advise leaving the free shipping box un-ticked as often the postage is minimal and actually works out to be cheaper than those with free shipping in the end. Also whilst you do need a department selected, you don’t need the sub-category selected, this will broaden you search and so make you more likely to find what you are looking for.

For example looking for USB sticks, the first page had an 8 GB stick for £2.95 including postage. Now I know that this kind of price isn’t going to set the world on fire, but that is pretty good when you consider that I was going to buy it anyway and I didn’t have to leave my chair or do anything to get it.

If you find any amazing discounts, or anything random, leave me a comment below. Happy shopping 🙂
